Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me right now?

If something in your life feels stuck  a relationship, a pattern, a grief you can't shake, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis. You just need to be willing to take an honest look.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is mostly about you sharing what's going on and us deciding together how to move forward. There's no script. You set the pace. By the end, we'll have a clearer sense of what the work might look like.

How long does therapy usually last?

That depends on what you're working on. Some people find what they need in a few months; others work longer-term. We'll check in regularly to make sure the sessions are still serving you.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?

Research consistently shows virtual therapy is effective for most mental health concerns. Many clients find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space. In-person sessions may be available in the future.

How is what I share in therapy kept private?

Everything you share is confidential, with limited exceptions required by law — such as imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. We'll review your privacy rights in full during the intake process.

What if I've never been to therapy before?

That's completely fine. Many people come in with no prior experience. The consultation call is specifically designed to help you understand what to expect before committing to anything. There's no wrong way to start.
